FAWU RISK ALLOWANCE CLAIMS A FALLACY

Dear employer

We have received some reports from members that the Food and Allied Workers Union (FAWU) are instructing employers in essential services that they ‘must’ pay employees a risk allowance for working during the lockdown.

According to FAWU, this is by instruction from Government.

This demand from FAWU is completely baseless, devoid of truth and opportunistic and should be rejected with the disdain it deserves.

Employers who are faced with this type of demand or misinformation campaigns are advised to contact their regional NEASA office for assistance.
