MOVEMENT OF CHILDREN DURING LOCKDOWN

The Minister of Social Development has published an amendment to the lockdown Regulations to allow for the movement of children between co-holders of parental responsibilities.

The following arrangements must be in place for a child to move from one parent to another:

• court order, or
• parental responsibilities and rights agreement or parenting plan registered with the Family Advocate.

The Regulation also states that under such agreements, children can move between parents, provided that in the household to which they move there is no person who is known to have come into contact with or is reasonably suspected to have come into contact with a person known to have contracted or reasonably suspected to have contracted COVID-19.

It is also required for parents or caregivers to carry the order of court or parental agreement whilst transporting children.
