MOTOR INDUSTRY
ENFORCEMENT OF BARGAINING COUNCIL LEVIES

Dear Industry Employer

It is common cause that for the period 1 February 2015 to 6 August 2015 there was no Administrative Agreement in force in the Motor Industry.

The effect of this, among others, was that there was no obligation on employers to pay bargaining council levies or to deduct bargaining council levies and trade union subscriptions from employees’ remuneration and to pay it over to the Bargaining Council. However, it has come to our attention that Bargaining Council (MIBCO) agents have threatened employers with enforcement should they not continue paying these monies during this period.

Should you be enticed or threatened into making payment in respect of these monies by MIBCO agents, please contact your nearest NEASA regional office without delay and provide full details in respect of the agent concerned.

Sincerely

Gerald Leith
