NEASA applications to set aside the;-

• extension of the 2014/2017 MEIBC Main Agreement; as well as the
• extension of the 2015 Administration Levies Agreement to non-parties,

will be heard in the Labour Court in Johannesburg from 19 – 20 October 2016.

These review applications are premised on numerous grounds, including

• alleged unlawful conduct by the MEIBC; and
• the failure by the Minister of Labour to properly exercise her discretion in deciding to extend these agreements.

If successful, non-signatories will no longer be bound by these agreements.

We will keep members abreast of developments in this regard.
