NO OBLIGATION TO PAY ADMINISTRATION LEVIES
Dear Industry Employer
NEASA has been inundated with queries in respect of the obligation of non-parties (employers not affiliated to SEIFSA) to the Administration Agreement to continue paying Administration and Dispute levies.
These queries seemingly stem from a very ambiguous circular sent out by the MEIBC advising employers that, due to the difficulty with changing the system, they are advised to continue with the payment of these levies. THIS STATEMENT IS BLATANTLY MISLEADING.
UNLESS YOU ARE A SEIFSA AFFILIATE, DO NOT PAY THESE LEVIES.
NEASA hereby wish to reiterate that employers who are not party to the Agreement MUST NOT PAY THESE LEVIES. There is no legal obligation to pay it and any deductions made from employees in respect of these levies without their written consent would be UNLAWFUL.
NEASA members who need advice on the above, kindly contact your regional office for assistance (click here for a contact list of the regional offices). Non-members who need assistance, kindly click here.
