NOTICE ON MEIBC WEBSITE MISLEADING
MEIBC RATES ONLY APPLICABLE TO SEIFSA EMPLOYERS
Dear NEASA member
The Metal and Engineering Industries Bargaining Council recently published the new minimum wage rates for 2014 to 2017 on its website.
The circular purports to claim that the new wage rates are applicable to all employers in the industry which of course is not the case.
The new wage rates currently only binds SEIFSA members until the Minister of Labour extends the agreement to non-parties; when and if that happens.
Employers who are not affiliated to SEIFSA is under no obligation to implement these wages at this time.
