NEASA LOCK-OUT
NUMSA INFORMATION MISLEADING
Dear NEASA member
It has come our attention that NUMSA is distributing correspondence to our members claiming that the Labour Court ruled the NEASA lock-out to be unlawful.
These claims are spurious and devoid of any truth.
The court case being referred to was brought by the Plastic Convertors Association of South Africa in respect of a dispute within the plastics sector. NEASA was not a party to the dispute and the ruling has got no bearing whatsoever on the dispute between NEASA and the unions or on the validity of the lock out.
We reconfirm that the lock-out is valid and legal.
NEASA members are requested not to engage with unions at plant level on these issues and to simply ignore any correspondence addressed directly to them.
