LOCK-OUT REMAINS LAWFUL
Dear Plastics Industry employer
The Labour Court, on 14 May 2019, delivered judgment in the application by NUMSA to have the continuing lock-out in the Plastics Sector declared unlawful.
The Court found that all legal prerequisites for the lock-out have been complied with and that the lock-out is lawful.
Therefore, Plastics Sector employers who are still locking out employees may continue to do so until the dispute between the parties has been resolved.
We will keep members abreast of developments in this regard.
