The effect of the
LABOUR APPEAL COURT
ruling of 26 March 2015

Dear Metal Industry Employer

The appeal filed by NEASA against the decision of the Labour Court permitting the MEIBC to request the Minister of Labour to extend the Seifsa/trade union July '14 agreement to non-parties was heard by the Labour Appeal Court today.

The Labour Appeal Court found that, due to the fact that the Minister of Labour has already extended the agreement and due to the fact that NEASA has already lodged a review application in the Labour Court in respect of the same matter, the matter should not be heard by the LAC.

In case you've missed this…

…the Labour Appeal Court judgement of today has no effect on NEASA's review application in the Labour Court to set aside the Minister of Labour's decision (in December '14) to extend the July '14 Seifsa/trade union agreement to non-parties.

Regards
