ALERT!

METAL INDUSTRY CRUNCH TIME

Employers cannot afford to be uninvolved any longer
NEASA needs your support

'Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety' – Benjamin Franklin, 1759

Dear Metal Industry Employer

In relation to the MEIBC, NEASA has consistently, on all forums, demanded the following:-

  • A separate dispensation for SMME's. SMME's will never allow their fate to be determined by others.

  • Full constitutional and legal compliance. The MEIBC has no regard for legal-, constitutional- and governance requirements.

Without compliance to the above there will never be normality in the Industry.

FIGHTING FOR SMME'S NOW BECOMES DANGEROUS

Demanding a separate dispensation for SMME's and legal and constitutional compliance, is becoming a dangerous task in the MEIBC as there are forces at work which protects the status-quo, an environment that suits them but severely prejudices SMME's.

Challenging this illegal- and unconstitutional conduct, insisting on transparency from the general secretary, has become a dangerous task. NEASA's insistence on the rectification of these issues have led to the MEIBC appointing guards, armed with automatic assault rifles, at the last meeting of the MEIBC's management committee.

This begs the question: What was planned? This action by the MEIBC creates the impression that anyone who challenges illegalities will be eliminated; or what would be the purpose of an automatic assault rifle at a meeting? To what lengths will the MEIBC go to hide the current illegal and unconstitutional regime?

What's next? Where will this end? To what extent will they go to hinder the answering of questions and robust debate? At what stage will Nazi-style tactics be used to remove delegates?

The MEIBC is in a corner; its illegal conduct is constantly challenged. The NUMSA/Seifsa unholy alliance, consistently acting in its own interests, is exposed. The result of all of this is that irrational conduct could be expected.

Events, as they play themselves out, will be diligently exposed.

THE SEIFSA/NUMSA ROLE IN ALL OF THIS

NUMSA (with their Marxist/socialist ideology, with no regard for SMME's, in particular, and business in general), will do anything in its power to protect the status quo.

Seifsa, on the other hand, cannot stand up to NUMSA: not in negotiations, not on this issue, in fact, on nothing with substance. They haven't done it in the past, they won't do it in future. They just don't have the inherent capability to stand up to NUMSA. Is it because standing up to NUMSA will be commercial suicide for Seifsa?

INDUSTRY EMPLOYER, WHERE DO YOU STAND IN ALL OF THIS?

  • You cannot remain neutral whilst all of this is happening; whilst there is a struggle taking place for the heart of the Industry, the future of manufacturing, the future of your business.

  • You cannot continue to directly or indirectly support an organisation that works for the downfall of SMME's; because that is exactly what the Seifsa/NUMSA relationship does.

THE INDUSTRY NEEDS YOUR INVOLVEMENT!
NEASA NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT!

Each day new employers join NEASA. We are approaching the position where the NEASA membership will be twice the combined Seifsa 'membership'.

This however is not good enough. The NUMSA/Seifsa/MEIBC/Department of Labour pact, assisted by a SMME hostile Labour Relations Act, requires us to have full and complete Industry support.

Kind Regards

Gerhard Papenfus
